Basic Food Worker Training Options

NET Health is pleased to offer a state-accredited classroom course. Participants will receive a valid certificate anywhere in the state of Texas.

The state of Texas requires Food Handler Certification by the 30th day of employment by all employees of a food establishment unless the employee has a current certified food manager certificate.

Course Options

Option 1: ON-SITE CLASS:

On-site English classes can be scheduled (Monday through Friday). There is a minimum of twenty (20) students per class.

Course Description: TX DSHS License #99 class curriculum.

REGISTRATION: Once a date and location have been confirmed, please submit a printed/typed roster and payment one week prior to the class.

PAYMENT: Pre-payment is required. The cost for us to bring the class to you is $20.00 per student. Payment is non-refundable.

Option 2: ONLINE CLASS:

Food handler courses are also available on-line in several languages. Students must ensure that the course is either an ANSI accredited or TX DSHS Licensed as a Food Handler Course. For a listing of classes approved by the State of Texas, click here.

Effective January 1, 2016

Per recent State of Texas Legislation, local health jurisdictions are no longer allowed to collect transfer or registration fees for Food Handler Training certificates issued by ANSI Accredited food handler training courses. S.B. 582

The NET Health will now only maintain a registry for basic food worker certificates of students taught by NET Health. Each employer is responsible for maintaining valid food worker certificates of students taught by NET Health. Each employer is responsible for maintaining valid food worker certificates for all conditional employees and employees hired to work in a food establishement.

The employee name, certificate and hire date must be available for review upon request by the inspector.
